Amy Handlin (R-13) - 80%

AFP's Taxpayer Zeroes

The bad news for taxpayers is that far too many of our representatives in Trenton are failing to stand up for their interests. No less than 66 out of 70 sitting Legislative Democrats were branded as "Taxpayer Zeroes" for 2010-2011 with scores ranging from 0-29%! Not one Democratic legislator achieved a rating above 40%.

Despite the state's fiscal problems, including more than $60 BILLION in debt, the majority party in the state Legislature continues to push to spend more and more of your tax dollars on their failed, liberal, Big Government agenda.

The Taxpayer Scorecard Is the State's Premier Fiscal Legislative Scorecard!

AFP has dedicated considerable time and effort to developing our Taxpayer Scorecard. No other organization in the state comes close to providing such an in-depth evaluation of the fiscal voting records of our legislators in Trenton.

This year's edition of the Taxpayer Scorecard details legislative votes in the General Assembly and State Senate across over 80 fiscal measures. AFP has also striven to arrange the votes into a more digestible format; categorizing votes according to Spending/Appropriations, Taxes and Regulations, Environmental Measures, Health Care Measures, Government Worker Pension and Benefit Reforms and more. Each section also contains AFP's analysis of the bills, adding color and context to our stated positions.

Get Involved!

But let's be clear about our objective. The goal in producing such a comprehensive evaluation of the fiscal voting records of the 120 legislators in Trenton is not just to inform you about their performance.

The Taxpayer Scorecard is intended to empower you, the voter, in order to take the necessary action to hold your elected representatives accountable for their stances on the legislation affecting the state's finances and the finances, tax burden and quality of life of every New Jerseyan.

As you and I know all too well, New Jersey remains in very poor fiscal shape. The nation's most burdensome tax climate, tens of billions of dollars in debt, and onerous mandates and regulations from Trenton all contribute to our state's economic malaise and lack of job growth.

Until our elected representatives in the state Legislature reverse course, prosperity in New Jersey will remain out of reach.

And that's why AFP is not stopping at just informing you, our valued activist, but taking to the airwaves and television in order to let our fellow citizens know the facts about just who is a "Taxpayer Hero" and a "Taxpayer Zero" in Trenton!

Contact

Please direct all inquiries to AFP-New Jersey Communications Director, Mike Proto at mproto@afphq.org.

AFP Taxpayer Scorecard 2010-2011
Copyright 2012.
